Team Battle
In the Team Battle variant, two or three teams of dragons can face off against one another. Teams share a pool of movement cards, and can share other resources whenever they meet up on the board.
Team Organization
Team Battle can be played with:
- Four players in two teams of two (2x2 match),
- Six players in two teams of three (2x3 match),
- Six players in three teams of two (3x2 match)
Rules
When playing on a team:
- Teams roll to decide the turn order as a unit. All members of a team take their turns one after the other, but may decide amongst themselves the order in which to take their turns. (One member of a team must complete their turn before the next member takes theirs. Each player still gets three actions per turn.)
- Movement cards and blood points are shared amongst a team. Teams draw 5 movement cards in a 2x2 or 2x3 match, and 7 movement cards in a 3x2 match.
- Any member of a team may use or push any movement card from their shared pool during their turn.
- Any member of a team may spend blood points from their shared pool during their turn.
- Whenever two allied dragons meet on adjacent spaces or in the same village or rider pickup point, they may exchange any number of coins, items, dragon riders, and magic tokens with their teammate. Trading must take place on one of the teammates' turns, and does not cost an action.
- Teams share a pool of combat bonuses from delivered dragon rider cards, but not from riders they are carrying.
- Allied dragons may move through one another's spaces, but may not end their movement on the same space as another dragon.
- When two allies are on adjacent spaces, the active player may use one action to switch places with their ally.
