Competitive Play

If you're looking for a greater challenge and don't mind a longer game, try playing in Competitive mode! This variant adds more powerful and varied treasure cards to the game and makes the movement rules more strict.

Competitive Rules

Competitive play is identical to Standard play, but with a few changes:

• Players don't move directly to a village upon dropping off a rider. You'll have to get there yourself!
• The portals don't allow dragons to turn freely. When traveling through a portal, you always emerge facing the same direction you entered in.
• The Treasure deck is expanded with rare item cards. These items have powerful effects that can turn the tide of the game.
